Nanyang Girls’ High School 90th Anniversary Art Exhibition

Location: Singapore Management University (SMU)

Time: August 2007.

As part of the Art Elective Programme, the Secondary Three students were assigned the task of making/constructing garden gornmes using clay. The theme was based on Environment and modern gornmes. Environment is a big issue around the globe now in the 21st century and Nanyang has also played its part in protecting the enviroment.

The first photograph comprises of all the gornmes which the secondary three AEP students have done. The second shot is a close-up on the gornme which my groupmates, Jin Su Huan, Lucy Chen, Ng Hui Kin and I have done. It shows an IT-savvy modern gornme who is a theft and trying to steal a barrel of IT gadgets such as I-pod, mouse and key-pad. The structure is made entirely out of clay and painted with a coat of acrylic paint.

Kucinta Cat Collage

January 2, 2008

Doing collage pieces have never been more fun than this! This 5 collages are a combined effort from Jing Ying, Hui Kin and I, we did it at the start of secondary when Mr. Ellis was still our AEP teacher. I think we did this for school kids, as an educational kit for them. There are quite a number of materials which we used in this collage, including sand and paper! The main character of the collage is of course, the Kucinta Cat! Enjoy! (:

cover page: we have decided to mail this piece of project work to Mr. Ellis!

Scene 1: The Kucinta cat walks into the forest and listen to the cicadas singing.

Scene 2: The Kucinta cat is resting on a log with white ants crawling on it.

Scene 3: The Kucinta cat hides behind a bush as a big yellow machine chops down the trees.

Scene 4: The Kucinta cat talks to the fern and feels sorry for the fallen tree.

Scene 5: The Kucinta cat walks away and sings.
