bangalore regional cip

January 13, 2008

The above shots are taken during the Secondary Three End of Year Global Classroom Programme.

(Community Involvement Programme at Bangalore City, India)

Almost everything was an eye-opener, from the people, the culture, the environment, the food and Bangalorians’ way of living. Sadly none of these shots were taken by myself but I find them really interestig so I decided to upload them here. Credits go to my fellow CIP trip mates Ethel Ng and Rachel Ho from class 414’08.

The First photograph was taken when we visited a local school-The IGL Primary School. The second shot was taken at our worksite, where we were supposed to carry out works such as digging out the grass, chunko-ing and teaching the students simple, basic English Language, which of course we had to do planning before-hand. We also helped out by serving the children lunch. Of course, there was much more to what we could have done and what we The third shot was taken when we visited a village located 2 hours’ away from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore City. There are many different villages located at the country side of India and Gangasandra is one of them. The people’s hospitality, their warmth, their smiles despite the poor living conditions, had a great impact on me. Learn to treasure, learn to cherish and most importantly, we have to learn to be satisfied with life. The last shot was taken when we visited the local wet market. There are numerous, countless stray dogs on the streets of Bangalore but it’s a good thing that they are all tamed.

I will be posting some of the photos which I took myself in the next post!
